A few months of cheeses, chocolates, and breads makes one Filipino crave for something close to the Filipino palate. Something salty, something oily, or simply put, something a little bit unhealthy. This made the days before our trip to Milan oh so exciting and oh so long. I was craving for Italian food days before our adventure in Milan. Moreover, our Filipino friends told us that the food in Italy costs 40% cheaper than in Switzerland, by this time, we couldn't wait anymore.
Milan. Soon as we checked in in our hotel, we went for lunch at a nearby restaurant. The restaurant was all I imagined it to be. Not so crude, very simple, typical hole in the wall. The menu was inkjet printed on plain paper, nothing fancy. The dishes couldn't remember the names nor the prices. We just ordered, took a few photos and jumped in. All I could remember is I ordered, red wine, risotto, salad, beef, the price, I remember the comments that it was way cheaper, and the taste was fantastic. To top it all, I believe it was all healthy.
Heaven. Like the restaurant's facade, the food presentation was ordinary. However, the taste was heavenly. What a great way to reintroduce myself to great food. Can't wait to eat Filipino Food again. Let my pictures tickle your palate's imagination. Bon appetit.
